Estimates, not advice

All calculations on Job Offer Tool — including take-home pay, tax estimates, real hourly pay, real annual value and decision scores — are simplified approximations. They are based on the figures you enter and on publicly available, simplified rules. They are intended to help you compare options and structure your thinking, not to give you a definitive answer.

Tax estimates

Our US take-home pay estimates use federal income tax brackets, the standard deduction, FICA (Social Security and Medicare) and a simplified single state rate. They do not include most tax credits, detailed deductions, local taxes, dependents, HSA, or the full detail of retirement contributions. State rates are approximations. Figures may be out of date or may not reflect your specific situation. Always confirm actual take-home pay with a tax professional or your payroll provider.

Wellbeing and stress ratings

The stress and wellbeing tools rely on your own self-reported ratings. They are not clinical instruments, are not scientifically validated, and do not diagnose stress, burnout or any mental health condition. If you are struggling with stress or mental health, please seek support from a qualified health professional.

No guarantee of outcomes

Job Offer Tool does not guarantee that following any recommendation will lead to a particular outcome. Career decisions involve factors no calculator can capture — company culture, team dynamics, personal circumstances and chance. Your own judgement is the final and most important input.
